Problems in Conceptual Analysis of Natural Language.

Abstract

This paper reports on some recent developments in natural language analysis. We address such issues as the role of syntax in a semantics-oriented analyzer, achieving a flexible balance of top-down and bottom-up processing, and the role of short term memory. Our results have led to improved algorithms capable of analyzing the kinds of multi-clause inputs found in most text. (Author)
