High-G Gimbal Technology Studies

Abstract

The objective of this task is to study the gimbal technology and predict feasible concepts worthy of demonstrating a two-axes wide angle stabilized gimbal system. Acceleration environments for the high velocity projectiles are of such intensities that special bearing protection design technology is required to develop a cannon type launchable gimbal system.
