Pooled Estimations of the Parameters on Weibull Distributions.

Abstract

In composite materials fatigue life testing under different levels of stress, the underlying distributions are assumed to be the Weibull Distribution with the common shape parameter. The problems of estimations and testing hypotheses regarding the common shape parameter and scale parameters in the Weibull distributions are considered. The results are: three methods of pooled estimation of the shape parameter, exact confidence intervals and testing hypotheses for the shape parameter, comparison of the bias factor of three pooled estimators of the shape parameter and exact confidence intervals and testing hypotheses for the scale parameters. Examples are given for composite material applications.
