Prognosis for Personality Disorders in the Naval Service.

Abstract

This report is about personality disorders are a major burden in the Armed Forces and are seen in large numbers in civilian outpatient practice. Prognosis generally has been regarded as poor or uncertain, but specific prognostic indicators have not been evaluated systematically. The present study investigates the prognostic validity of demographic and clinical information in a large sample of Navy personality disorder cases and develops actuarial tables for predicting post-hospital adjustment.
