Study of Officer Turbulence Based on Officer Tape Records

Abstract

This report summarizes data on officer turbulence derived from taped personnel and reassignment records of officers reassigned in November 1964 when problems related to premature change of station of Army officers were of urgent concern to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel. The data were analyzed primarily to identify critical factors in the personnel system both for immediate use by management and as a basis for manpower simulation studies. Continuation of the study was interrupted by the changing military situation.
