Man-Machine Evaluation of the M60A2 Tank System

Abstract

The research requirement specified that a human factors evaluation of the M60A2 tank system be conducted in conjunction with an Intensified Confirmatory Troop Test of the system. The evaluation was directed at personnel selection, training, operational and maintenance procedures, manuals and publications, equipment design, and communications. The objectives were to identify human factors (man/machine interface) problems of the M60A2 tank systems; and formulate recommendations for actions that would minimize the number and/or impact of these problems on system efficiency.
