Requirements Standards Study. Volume III. Requirements Engineering Guidebook.

Abstract

The Requirements Engineering Guidebook provides guidance and standards for government and private engineering personnel in defining and analyzing the requirements for a system. This guidebook addresses the initial phases of Air Force system acquisition (Conceptual and Validation Phases) and is intended to provide gridance for the acquisition of large-scale systems. However, the guidance can be applied to smaller, less complex systems and can be used in acquisition environments other than the Air Force. This document contains the guidelines and standards for requirements engineering and documentation and provides the framework for tailoring the requirements engineering activities to the specific needs of individual programs.
