Theater Cruise Missile: Concepts and Considerations.

Abstract

Theater sea launched and ground launched cruise missiles will be a part of U.S. and Allied military forces. As the means of military power enforcing national goals, forces should derive form, or be judged in terms of supporting national policy. Theater cruise missiles affordably satisfy these measures, thereby presenting a credible warfighting capability to deter aggression and to defend by denying an enemy's achieving theater objectives, while being consistent with arms control and detente goals. Theater cruise missiles, in concert with other forces, will provide significant support of U.S. and Allied policy protecting vital interests. (Author)
