The Application of Organization Development to the Naval Air Test Center.

Abstract

This thesis introduces the practicing manager to the field of Organization Development. The purpose of the thesis is five fold: To create awareness of the change forces facing the manager, to describe a technology for organizational adaption to change (Organization Development), to provide a foundation of knowledge of Organization Development theory and applications, to demonstrate the theory and application of the Navy planned change approach (Survey Guided Development) and to suggest methods, techniques and strategy for improving the management of human resources, through the application of Organization Development concepts. An Organization Development analysis of the Naval Air Test Center is presented using the Contingency Model Theory and specific recommendations are made for Naval Air Test Center management's consideration.
