Guidelines for Evaluation of Minicomputer Hardware and Software - A User Perspective.

Abstract

Guidelines are presented for the evaluation and selection of hardware and system software for minicomputers. The evaluation is presented from a non-technical user point of view as opposed to a detailed technical comparison. The issues covered include defining an approach for computing, acquiring a minicomputer system, negotiation with vendors, installation and operation. Case examples are given along with examples of failure. (Author)
