Operation SNAPPER, Nevada Proving Grounds, April-June 1952, Project 4.2, Biomedical Exposure Equipment,

Abstract

This publication describes and evaluates equipment designed for the exposure of animals and biological materials to certain effects of an atomic bomb explosion. In this sense the subject matter belongs in the same report, however, since there is considerable diversity in the effects considered, a single chapter has been devoted to each type of equipment. The first chapter is concerned with exposure to direct air blast, the second deals with the production of flashburns, the third with exposure to ionizing radiation. Certain instruments are described in the fourth chapter which are applicable to more than one type of exposure equipment. (Author)
