An Incremental Costing Method for Resource Allocation in Navy Training.

Abstract

When deciding where a proposed incremental level of recruit training should take place, the decision maker should ascertain the cost of the alternatives and select that site where the required training can be done most efficiently. This report (a) demonstrates that incremental costing is the appropriate approach to use when estimating the relative costs of the alternative training sites and (b) develops one method for obtaining the incremental costs of recruit training. 1978 data for recruit training at the Naval Training Center, Orlando, were used to exemplify the method.
