U.S. Army Human Engineering Laboratory Female Artillery Study

Abstract

The US Army Human Engineering Laboratory conducted the female artillery study to evaluate the female soldiers' capability to perform specific tasks associated with loading, laying, and firing selected howitzers. The study showed that female soldiers can successfully attain published rates of fire for the 105mm M101A1 and 155mm M114A1 howitzers.
