Sampling Digital Multiple Channel Same Frequency Repeater Study.

Abstract

The feasibility of modifying an AN/ZRC-1 multiple single frequency repeater was investigated. The present design used an analog sampling scheme to allow the simultaneous repeating of up to four separate analog voice radio links, using only one frequency per link. It was found that this scheme did not lend itself to wideband digital signals such as those found with the TSEC/KY-58 voice encryption equipment. Instead, a new approach is described which would provide a sampling single frequency repeater for wideband digital signals. (Author)
