Study of Effectiveness of Rehabilitation Methods for Analog Magnetic Tape.

Abstract

Two tape condition monitors have been constructed and are in the final test phase at the end of this report period. Instructions for Operation and Servicing are ready for delivery with these equipments. Preliminary measurements on three lots of tapes for test cleaning have been completed. One lot of cleaned tapes has been received at Kenton for 'after cleaning' measurements. Dropout data at various tape speeds and wavelengths are reported. (Author)
