Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) Magnet Modeling

Abstract

This report presents the results of a study to establish scaling criteria for a lightweight, superconducting magnet system for use in magnetohydrodynamic power generation. The scaling criteria are used to determine the appropriate size for a model magnet to be built to demonstrate the major system parameters of a full scale, 30 MWe, magnet system.
