A Comparison of Image Enhancement Techniques.

Abstract

After a discussion of the statistical theory of image fields, the paper provides a critical comparison of the median filtering, autoregressive (AR), autoregressive and moving average (ARMA), and Kalman filtering of reconnaissance imagery with additive Gaussian noise. The Kalman filtering performs the best in image enhancement and requires relatively less amount of computation time. (Author)
