Airborne Noise Levels on Merchant Ships. A Compilation of Data.

Abstract

This document provides general guidance in the development of noise standards for US merchant ships. It is one of several dealing with various aspects of noise as related to the safety of personnel and habitability aboard merchant ships. It summarizes selected A- and C-weighted sound pressure level data for each type of space aboard merchant ships of US flag and non-US flag. The data were extracted or derived from available literature and from recent NOSC measurements. (Author)
