Pressure Measurements from Flight Tests of the Airborne Laser Laboratory with Sealed Partial Aft Fairing.

Abstract

This report describes the data acquisition and reduction of pressure measurements made during a flight test of a modified fairing on the Airborne Laser Laboratory. The modification of the fairing was sealing the gap between the fairing and the eyelid turret. Several flight regimes were investigated and conclusions as to the affectiveness of such a seal are made. Potential causes of unsteady pressure problems are suggested and a suggestion is made to redesign aft fairing. (Author)
