Review and Tailoring of Selected DDG-47 and DDG-48 Equipment Specifications and Work Statements.

Abstract

The imposition of military specifications and standards in the system acquisition process may adversely affect program costs and schedules if the imposed specifications are not thoroughly reviewed and tailored for specific application. This report describes a review and tailoring effort conducted for selected equipment procurement specifications and work statements. Recommendations for tailoring are included and potential cost and risk impacts are identified in this report. (Author)
