Piezoelectric and Pyroelectric Applications of Plastics.

Abstract

This paper summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of polymer piezoelectric and pyroelectric transducers relative to transducers made of ceramic materials. It is concluded that polymers are the material of choice for some special measurement problems and inferior for others. A large list of applications ranging from commercial to exploratory is given with references to further information. (Author)
