Lead: Preliminary Pollutant Limit Value for Lead Compounds in Soil.

Abstract

A preliminary pollutant limit value (PPLV) of 42 mg-Pb/kg-soil has been calculated for lead compounds in soil. The solubilities of two compounds of interest to the Army, lead azide, and lead chromate, exceed the 1979 proposed water quality criterion for lead; these compounds could produce toxic effects in humans at soil concentrations which exceed the PPLV.
