Abstract Optimality Theory.

Abstract

This work presents an abstract optimality theory. The discussed concepts (e.g. extremal, Lagrangian, duality) are more general and much simpler than their familiar counterparts used in more concrete framework. They admit geometrical interpretations and help to clarify the underlying ideas of the theory. Consequently, the presented theory suggests further theoretical developments and possible applications.
