Supersaturated Aluminum Alloy Powders.

Abstract

Four aluminum alloys were prepared as powders by the RSR Process. The compositions (in weight percents) were: (1). AL-7Fe-0.5Cr. (2). AL-7Fe-1.0Cr. (3). AL-7Fe-1.5CR. (4). AL-7Fe-1.0CR-0.2Ti-0.2v-0.2Zr. The alloys were compacted and extruded at 750 F with an extrusion ratio of 39.3:1. Microstructural investigations of both the powders and the bulk extrusion were made.
