Exercise Desert Rock 7 and 8, Operation Order Number 10. Army, Camp Desert Rock, Nevada

Abstract

The Atomic Energy Commission detonates an atomic device (PASCAL-A) at H-hour on D-day. After the shot Ordnance and Signal field tests will be performed. Hq, Exercise Desert Rock VII and VIII, supervises and coordinates Desert Rock Army participation in shot PASCAL-A in area U-3d in the NEVADA TEST SITE commencing at H-hour on D-day to: locate atomic burst horizontally; determine height of burst and yield; and predict and monitor radioactive fallout pattern (Project 50.8). Personnel from Project 50.8 will participate in shot PASCAL-A. Project 50.8 will operate radar, sound and IR detector equipment from approved sites.
