The U.S. Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) has scheduled a test series of atomic weapons and devices at the Pacific Proving Ground (PPG) in the Spring of 1956. This test series, known as Operation REDWING, will consist of approximately sixteen detonations. The first shot is scheduled for 1 May 1956, and it is anticipated that the last detonation will occur not later than 15 August 1956.
