Water Tunnel Tests on a NACA 16-309 Section Equipped with a Simple, Sealed Flap.

Abstract

Water tunnel tests are described of a NACA 16-309 section equipped with a 25% flap-chord ratio, simple, sealed flap. Lift and pitching moment coefficients are given for a range of angles of attack, flap angles and cavitation numbers. Drag data are not considered reliable and only a few values are presented. The results are also given of limited tests for the dependency of force, moment and cavitation inception data on Reynolds number over the range from 1,250,000 to 3,980,000. (Author)
