Management of U.S. Coast Guard Information Security Program Using Management by Objectives.

Abstract

This thesis is a study of the management process of management by objectives and its use as a method for management of the United States Coast Guard information security program. The thesis develops management by objectives as a systematic, phased process which managers throughout the coast Guard security program could be encouraged to use. Several problem areas in the security program have been identified and analyzed. Solutions within a management by objectives context have been proposed for these problems. This study has combined MBO theory and discussion of specific problems in the Coast Guard security program so that managers could have a foundation for installing management by objectives. (Author)
