Sounding Equipment Studies,

Abstract

From a design standpoint, the Hydrographic Surveying and Charting (HYSURCH) hydrographic subsystem is a complex operation involving a great number of interacting factors. Design considerations of almost any one aspect of the sub-system soon involve basic questions about the others. In this research note the author attempts to isolate some aspects of the problem of equipment specifications for the sounding craft and their echo-sounding sensor.
