Modelling and Resource Allocation of Linearly Restricted Operating Systems.

Abstract

Operating System is an integral part of a total computing utility. Its structure is complicated and the viewpoint on the subject is diversified. If the computing system is viewed upon as a collection of different resource types to serve different users with different demands, then the operating system assumes the managerial role. To best utilize the available resources to achieve a desirable level of production, i.e., computation, an optimal planning (programming) is needed.
