Rig Evaluation of the On-Line Ferrograph.

Abstract

An on-line ferrograph has been rig evaluated using the dynamic foam apparatus. The on-line ferrograph appears to be operational based upon determination of the effect of operational temperature and pressures. The unit has the required sensitivity as indicated by sample dilution and ferrous particulate additions to the system. Debris analysis using available techniques indicated little correlation among the methods; however, there was some correlation of the on-line device with the analytical ferrograph. With attention to minor operational limitations, engine evaluation of the on-line ferrograph should be pursued. (Author)
