A Method for Computer-Aided Design of Sabot-Penetrator Packages

Abstract

The application of interactive computer graphics in developing a tool for expediting the analysis and design of axisymmetric structures such as sabot- penetrator packages is discussed. A pre-processor which has been developed to allow the designer to interactively modify finite element models of sabot- penetrator packages for quasi-static analysis with SAP IV (Structural Analysis Program) is described along with the accompanying post-processor. User manuals for the pre- and post-processors are provided.
