Measurement of the Thermal Diffusivity of Carbon/Carbon Fibre Composites From 20-3000 C.

Abstract

Thermal diffusivity measurements from 300-3000K have been made on the following materials using the laser pulse method: (a) 3-D carbon fiber carbon composites types 'A' and 'B' made using Fiber 'F' material; (b) 1-D carbon fiber composite; (c) the matrix material used in their fabrication. Thermal conductivity has been calculated from these results and a model of composite conductivity presented. (Author)
