Defense Analysis in the United States.

Abstract

The paper discusses analysis agencies in the United States Department of Defense elements, Federal Contract Research Centers, and defense analysis conducted by private research corporation. As an example of analytical activities in a military service, an overview of the U.S. Army analysis agencies is given. The paper also describes the U.S. DOD and Army process for planning, programming, conduct, and reporting of studies, and provides a list of references pertaining to studies and analyses. (Author)
