Analytical Plotters in Defense Mapping Agency,

Abstract

Computer assisted stereoplotters and comparators have been in development and in use by DMA for many years. Use of this type of equipment has reached a reasonable state of maturity in the support of the DMA production programs. Application of this type of equipment in DMA exemplify its potential to aerial triangulation and compilation of relief and planimetry. Several of these applications are reviewed so as to emphasize the range of tasks that can be performed on computer assisted equipment given the proper software engineering. (Author)
