Tank Gunnery Analysis for Developing a Tank Crew Training Data Base

Abstract

The research was designed to fulfill a requirement for the collection, analysis, and reporting of tank crew gunnery score data. The research was required as input for a Department of Defense net assessment study of the U. S. and Soviet tank crew training. The objectives were: (1) to provide a tank crew training data base consisting of data from at least ten tank battalions and, (2) an analysis of this data base which would permit the identification of some of the variables affecting gunnery performance.
