Log Polar Quantization.

Abstract

Log Polar Quantization was developed as an alternative to real-imaginary quantization for complex digital signal processing. The motivation was to achieve a better match between the quantization scheme and complex signal processing characteristics, without precluding the effective use of microprocessor or bit slice processor architectures. The subject report provides information on a specific Log Polar Vector Adder which was breadboarded and simulated, to provide an example of the implementation of such a quantization scheme. (Author)
