Logistic Systems Studies Handbook

Abstract

The study assignment, whether or not formally designated a Task Order and regardless of the issuing office, provides general direction on the study's nature and designates who will prepare the study. Since a study assignment is issued by a relatively high level official and followed, shortly, by a considerably more detailed 'Study Plan' (see Chapter II), emphasis in the development of the study assignment should be oriented primarily toward the reasons for its establishment and based on minimum research into the subject area involved.
