Infrared Electro-Optic System Performance Effects Due to Absorption by Battlefield Gases.

Abstract

Estimates of laser and broadband infrared gaseous absorption are provided for several land battlefield scenarios. Quantity, dispersion, and concentration are discussed using a simple diffusion model. Sources treated are vapor products of TNT and RDX explosions, land fires, and vehicle emissions. (Author)
