Directional Range Performance Estimation.

Abstract

A procedure for estimating and displaying the directional range performance of passive steerable-beam acoustic sensors is outlined. Applications are discussed and presented graphically. Use of the Performance Assessment for Sonar Systems (PASS) model for computing fundamental range performance is discussed and examples are presented. Interim computer software, written in ASCII Fortran for the UNIVAC 1110 computer, for interfacing with PASS and for estimating and displaying directional range performance, is documented and listings of the program are included.
