Weather-Crop Yield Relationships in Drought-Prone Countries of Sub-Saharan Africa Appendix.

Abstract

Part 2 of the final report is divided into three appendices which include: (1) a listing of all national precipitation reporting stations used in the analysis; (2) a listing of all national precipitation data by station ID for the drought period 1968-1975, inclusive; and (3) a listing of all WMO meteorological data by year for each station. Appendix 1 lists the stations used in the regional precipitation analysis for the period 1968-1975 as well as those WMO stations used in model development. This listing is by country and includes a map to show the divisions for the regional analysis. Included in tabular form by country are the national station ID, station name, WMO number for appropriate stations belonging to the WMO reporting network, the region in which the station is located, longitude, latitude, and altitude (m). Appendix 2 lists all the national monthly rainfall (cm) by station ID and years for the period 1968-1975. The station ID's correspond to those listed in Appendix 1, column 1. The data from these stations were aggregated into regional form by country as shown in the maps in Appendix 1 for the precipitation analysis: 1968-1975. The results of this analysis are presented in Part 1 (Section IV.B). Appendix 3 provides a listing of all monthly mean temperatures (C) and monthly total precipitation (cm) for all WMO stations used in the agroclimatic analyses presented in Part 1. Included are WMO numbers, and station names for these data primarily for the period beginning in 1951 through 1975-1977.
