The Weathering of Plastic Materials in the Tropics. 3. The Evaluation of a Solar Radiation Concentration Device (EMMA) as a Means of Accelerating the Weathering of Plastics

Abstract

This report gives details of a trial in Phoenix comparing the rate of natural weathering with that for exposure on EMMA - a device which increases the intensity of solar radiation. The materials exposed were low density polyethylene and polyacetal. An acceleration factor of about two was found for both materials. (Author)
