Topical Hazard Evaluation Program of Candidate Insect Repellents AI3-33663a and AI3-35580a, US Department of Agriculture Proprietary Compounds.

Abstract

Preliminary hazard evaluations of AI3-33663a and AI3-35580a were performed by means of laboratory animal studies using rats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. The technical grade compounds did not cause any skin, eye or photoirritation, and did not cause a sensitization reaction. They also were not acute ingestion hazards. It was recommended that both AI3-33663a and AI3-35580a be approved for further testing as candidate insect repellents. (Author)
