Magneto-Optic Materials for Biasing Ring Laser Gyros.

Abstract

A series of new materials including alloys of transition metals (Fe, Co) with rare earths (Gd, Tb) have been fabricated and characterized. Analysis is provided of ellipsometric techniques used to obtain the magneto-optic properties. An improved definition of Figure-of-Merit for transverse Kerr effect mirror application.
