The Effect of Vibration on Quartz Crystal Resonators.

Abstract

The acceleration sensitivity of crystal oscillators is assuming increasing significance in modern communications, navigation and identification systems. This report describes how acceleration, particularly vibration, effects the frequency of quartz crystal controlled oscillators. Simple harmonic motion, complex and random vibrations, and frequency multiplication are covered. Several examples and experimental demonstrations are given. (Author)
