Electromechanical Actuation Development.

Abstract

Electromechanical actuation of primary flight control surfaces has been demonstrated by the development of an integrated rotary hinge-line dual-redundant actuation unit. The controller power level of 30 amp at 270 vdc was demonstrated. Thermal characteristics of the motor and actuator were evaluated at ambient temperatures ranging from -65 F to 250 F. (Author)
