The Remote Link Unit: Applications to the Design-for-Repair Methodology Program.

Abstract

This represents the results of a study on the application of the Remote Link Unit (RLU) and its design concepts to the Design-for-Repair Methodology Program. The report focuses on the incorporation of automated maintenance and fault tolerance in avionic systems. The major components used to implement the proposed design concepts are intelligent universal interface modules and electronic nameplates. A phased implementation plan for the integration of RLU concepts in the design of distributed avionic systems is also described. (Author)
