A Study of Landsat Multi-Spectral Scanner Data Tapes.

Abstract

A detailed study is described of a number of computer compatible magnetic tapes containing Landsat multi-spectral scanner (MSS) data. This study reveals the differences between raw and corrected data tapes and indicates how the conversion is performed. It also shows the differences between the existing and a new form of corrected data tape. From the knowledge gained, a computer program has been written, to enable raw data, desirable for certain computer analyses, to be obtained from the existing stocks of corrected data tapes. (Author)
