A Methodology for Estimating Mission Reliability,
Abstract
This research is specifically directed towards the application of techniques for estimating mission reliability where data is generated from proving ground or actual field testing. Three methodologies are refined for the typical Army vehicle testing situation. These are (i) failure data analysis, (ii) use of the exponential distribution, and (iii) use of the binomial distribution. Applicable approximations are explored for easy application along with typical examples of their use. (Author)
