Abstract

This report addresses the selection, training, and utilization of officers assigned to the Navy Recruit Training Commands. It is one in a series of reports concerned with how to optimize Navy Recruit Training to meet the needs of the post-1980 period. The report provides a comprehensive review of the officers assigned to a Division of the Navy Recruit Training Commands. Selection criteria, function, training, and duties of these officers have been studied. A comparison is made between the Navy division officer and similar officers of the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard concerning their selection, training, and utilization.
